Years at Crossfit Purgatory: 2

Always Something to be Thankful for.

Where are you from? What brought you to Tucson?
Chandler/ ahwatukee. Upon my relase from the department of corrections I decided to start over and Tucson just happened to be the place.
How long have you been a CrossFitter, and why did you start?
So I have been doing crossfit workouts on my own for about 2 years but started at CFP about 4 months ago.
Which movement is your favorite?
Does running count?
How have you improved the most?
Prior to coming to CFP i had never done any olympic lifting or anything with weights. So i would say i have improved the most on every barbell movement.
If you were stuck on a desert island, and could only have one food forever, what would it be?
Captain crunch berries. Man i miss them.
What do you love about being at CrossFit Purgatory?
Its the best hour of my day. Even when i’m having a bad day I can come in, leave my stress at the door and have a great time.
What keeps you motivated?
The first thing that keeps me motivated is that it keeps me sober. For the last decade I’ve stuggled with addiction until I found Crossfit. The second thing that keeps me motivated is learning new movements and progressions.
If I’m not at the box, you can probably find me…
Working, advocating for prison reform, volunteering, spending time with family, and dropping in at other boxes in Phoenix
One interesting thing about yourself not related to CrossFit:
I served in the Army
