Mom, Coach, and All Around BadAss!!!
Where are you from? What brought you to Tucson?
I am from Seligman, Arizona. My parents divorce brought me to Tucson when I was 9 years old. I am almost a true T-loc.
How long have you been a CrossFitter, and why did you start?
3 ish years. I started because my friends signed me up – “All the cool kids were doing it”.
Which movement is your favorite?
The Powerclean — DUUHHH!
How have you improved the most?
I listen to my body. Before I was very egotistic. I’ve gotten hurt twice which was bad judgement on my part. I didn’t know how to mobilize or stretch. It was never apart of my routine before and now it is.
If you were stuck on a desert island, and could only have one food forever, what would it be?
Bacon, Brussel Sprouts and Honey!
What do you love about being at CrossFit Purgatory?
Oh man…That is a tough question. I love that people allow me to push them beyond their comfort zone. That the can come to me about anything, Crossfit or Home related stuff. I love how much I have grown not only as a coach but also an athlete. I love that I am coached at Purgatory. I have been at several other boxes with great communities as well but I was never coached proper form. So having people around me want to make me a better person….has been amazing!
What keeps you motivated?
My own fitness: Seeing results. Being able to string together a toes to bar or 15 doubles in a row. Also, my family. As you all know I post a lot about how my two littles try to workout or train. I know that I am being a great role model for them. Nothing motivates me more than knowing that I am making a positive change in a small person! Now as a coach: Seeing others progress with proper form and technique. Nothing makes more motivated to be the best coach possible then seeing an athlete listen to my advice and be a better at what ever task they were trying to accomplish.
If I’m not at the box, you can probably find me…
shopping at target!
One interesting thing about yourself not related to CrossFit:
I have mad hitch hikers thumb!
